In recent years, green low-carbon products are increasingly recognized by consumers. 2022 January, the National Development and Reform Commission and seven other departments jointly issued the "Implementation Plan for Promoting Green Consumption", which proposes to deeply integrate the green concept in the whole cycle, the whole chain and the whole system in all areas of consumption, expand the supply and consumption of green low-carbon products, and provide important support for promoting high-quality development and creating high-quality life.

What is the current situation of concentrated laundry products that incorporate the green concept? Zheng Yueming, a deputy to the National People's Congress and chairman of Lianhongxinke, revealed in an interview with this reporter: "At present, the market for concentrated laundry products in China has not yet been opened, and the consumption ratio of concentrated products is less than 4%, which is far behind the level of more than 80% in developed countries and regions."

According to the reporter's understanding, this year's National People's Congress, Zheng Yueming suggested that the state introduce relevant policies to guide consumers to use green concentrated laundry products.

"Detergent products are very familiar to the majority of consumers for daily use, including laundry detergent, washing powder, cleaning agents, etc.. Concentration is one of the important measures for the green and low-carbon development of detergent products." Zheng Yueming told reporters, "According to the data provided by the China Detergent Industry Association, the active ingredient content of ordinary detergent products is generally 15%-20%, to the market 2 kg package of ordinary detergent products, for example, which may contain as much as 1.6 kg of water. Concentrated detergents can contain more than 25% of active ingredients, and super-concentrated detergents can contain more than 45%. Compared with ordinary detergents, concentrated detergents have stronger detergency, smaller size, lower cost of production, packaging, storage and transportation, and less carbon emission, which is in line with the direction of green consumption."

Data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that China's synthetic detergent production will exceed 11 million tons in 2020. According to the calculations of China Detergent Industry Association, if all China's detergents are concentrated, about 1.75 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced and more than 8 billion kilowatt hours of electricity can be saved annually during the production and transportation of detergents; during the use process, about 2.4 million tons of washing wastewater emissions can be reduced, which is equivalent to the carbon dioxide emissions of about 400,000 domestic cars for 1 year, 3 million families for 1 year This is equivalent to the carbon dioxide emissions of 400,000 cars, the electricity consumption of 3 million households and the water consumption of 10,000 households in one year. Under the "double carbon" target and the general trend of green low-carbon consumption, we should promote the concentration of detergents.

Zheng Yueming pointed out in his proposal that some developed countries and regions have started earlier and developed faster in the enrichment of detergent products. For example, the United States from the 1980s to gradually promote the concentration of detergent products, since 2007, the United States Wal-Mart supermarket shelves only allow the placement of concentrated detergent products, greatly accelerated the concentration process, the current U.S. liquid laundry detergent concentration rate of 98.8%. Since 1995, Japan has been promoting the concentration of detergents by reducing plastic packaging and carrying out independent action plans, and the current concentration rate has reached 98.9%. Since 1997, Europe has been promoting the concentration of detergent products by stipulating the requirements for single use of products, and the current concentration rate is over 80%.

In recent years, what work has been done in China to promote the concentration of detergent products?

Zheng Yueming told the reporter that in July 2009, China Light Industry Federation and China Detergent Industry Association jointly issued the first "Concentrated Laundry Detergent Mark" in China. With the continuous progress of technology and iterative upgrading of raw materials, China's detergent industry has developed a variety of functional concentrated laundry products in the areas of fabric cleaning and care, as well as household, kitchen and bathroom cleaning, including concentrated laundry detergent, concentrated laundry detergent, concentrated laundry beads, concentrated softener, concentrated detergent, dishwasher detergent, concentrated bathroom cleaner, etc. 82 products from 27 enterprises have obtained the concentrated Logo certification.

Zheng Yueming said that at present, China's market for concentrated laundry products has not yet opened, and the proportion of concentrated products consumption is less than 4%, which is far behind developed countries and regions. There are two main reasons for this result: First, product standards are not perfect, and product quality needs to be further improved; second, consumer awareness of concentrated products is not enough, and most consumers have formed the "amount of more to wash clean" and "more affordable large barrel packaging". inherent impression and consumption habits. To solve the above problems, relying on industry associations and corporate publicity is not enough, the need for national-level policies to promote the joint participation of multiple social forces.

In this regard, Zheng Yueming suggested the following aspects to further promote the consumption of green concentrated washing products.

First, it is suggested that the state introduce relevant policies to support the development of concentrated laundry products and guide consumers to use green concentrated laundry products. Develop mandatory norms to accelerate the governance of detergent packaging reduction; improve the standard system, raise the standard threshold, and strengthen the environmental management of product production, storage and transportation; improve the green certification and labeling system for detergent products, encourage enterprises to apply for product green certification, and crack down on false labeling, misleading consumers and other behaviors.

Second, strengthen scientific and technological support and expand green supply. Through taxation, green finance and other means, support leading and backbone enterprises to increase investment in research and development, improve product quality and cost performance, and enhance competitiveness.

Third, increase publicity efforts, play the role of industry associations, mainstream media, public welfare science and publicity of concentrated washing products, to guide green consumption.
